Paint as Land

Traces of our living imperceptibly accumulate one anonymous layer at a time, until the weight of evidence overwhelms and returns as consequence such as vanishing wildlife, rising oceans, poisoned land and toxic air. These works address some of the cumulative traces of my own artmaking processes. Layer upon layer of dried, spent paint collected from artists, housepainters and paint manufacturers; built up in strata; transforming the destination of these materials from landfill to landscape.
